IB’s Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the IB works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Additional Information:

What is the International Baccalaureate (IB) all about?
Three Fundamental Concepts:
Holistic Learning - Emphasizes the links between the disciplines.
Intercultural Awareness - Developing students' attitudes, knowledge and skills as they learn about their own and others' social and national cultures.
Communication - Is fundamental to learning, as it supports inquiry and understanding, and allows student reflection and expression.

What is the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program?
True middle school philosophy.
IB is for ALL students.
The IB Middle Years Program is for students aged 11 to 16, provides a framework for academic challenge that encourages students to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world, and become critical and reflective thinkers.

What the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program is Not..
IB MYP is not an elite program for gifted students.
IB MYP does not have application requirements like the HS diploma program.
