B.Y.O.D./Supplies

We are thrilled to share some exciting news regarding the upcoming school year at Mesa Middle School. As part of our commitment to providing the best possible education and preparing our students to be successful in the future, we are introducing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for the 2024/2025 academic year.  We are requesting each student bring a personal chromebook or laptop to school each day as these devices will become powerful tools for learning, creativity, and exploration.

As part of this transition, we are easing the burden on families by significantly reducing our school supply list. Essentially, instead of asking families to spend hundreds of dollars each school year on school supplies, we are only asking families for a one time purchase of a chromebook or like device which will last for their duration of time here at Mesa and into high school.  Please see the link for our school supply list for the 24-25 school year. Here are a few reasons why we believe a one-to-one device program is beneficial for our school:

  1. Enhanced Learning Opportunities: With individual devices, students can access a wealth of educational resources, collaborate with peers on projects, and engage with interactive learning materials tailored to their needs.
  2. Preparation for the Digital Age: In today's digitally-driven world, proficiency in using technology is essential. BYOD prepares students for success in higher education and future careers by familiarizing them with digital tools and platforms.
  3. Personalized Learning: Leveraging technology to receive personalized instruction and support from teachers.
  4. Increased Engagement: Integrating technology into the learning process fosters a more dynamic and engaging classroom environment, capturing students' interest and motivation to learn.

We understand that some families may not be able to participate in the BYOD program. In such cases, we will have a limited number of devices available for checkout for the entirety of the school year. Please note that these devices will be allocated based on financial need on a first come first served basis. Request a Device Link
