I am excited to begin my second year as the 8th Grade Health and Wellness teacher for Team Glacier at Mesa Middle School! I earned my degree in Corporate Recreation and Wellness from Northwest Missouri State University. In 2022, I began substitute teaching in the Douglas County School District, and Mesa quickly became one of my favorite schools. In 2025, I had the opportunity to join the Mesa staff full time, and I am so grateful to be part of this amazing school community.
Along with teaching, I have a passion for coaching and working with student-athletes. I have coached girls basketball at the club, recreational, and middle school levels. Over the past two years at Mesa, I have had the privilege of coaching our girls basketball program and helping lead our 6th/7th grade girls to a championship title during the 2026 season.
I grew up in Kansas but have called Colorado home since 2015. My husband, Larry, and I recently celebrated 20 years of marriage, and we have three children. Asher is a senior at Douglas County High School, Ruby is an 8th grader here at Mesa, and Selah is a 3rd grader at Flagstone Elementary. My family is my greatest blessing, and I love spending my time cheering them on in all of their activities.
Outside of school, you can usually find me watching my kids play football, flag football, softball, basketball, or compete in track and field. I also enjoy DIY projects, taking naps, walking my Corgi, Gwen, putting together a puzzle and lifting weights.
I am passionate about helping students develop healthy, active lifestyles while building confidence, teamwork, and skills they can use both inside and outside the classroom. I believe health and wellness is about much more than physical fitness—it is about helping students become confident, capable, and healthy individuals. I am excited for another great year at Mesa and look forward to getting to know our Glacier students and families!
