Michelle Barnes
Welcome to French Class!
I am honored to have the privilege of teaching your child. It is a charge I take seriously, and honor respectfully. As we begin this academic year I would like to introduce myself, as well as share some thoughts and information.
My name is Michelle Barnes and I will be your child’s French teacher this year for at Mesa Middle School. I am excited to have been given this opportunity.
I’d like to take this time to introduce myself. I am originally from Canada and grew up speaking French. I studied French at l’Université de Nancy II in Nancy, France for two years and completed my studies at Oklahoma State University where I earned a degree in French Literature. Over the years I have had different teaching opportunities and each experience has helped me grow as a teacher and understand the importance of quality education. I taught at Eisenhower International School, a French and Spanish Immersion School in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 18 years, where I worked with students in grades 3-5. I then taught at Holland Hall Preparatory School, a prestigious private school in Tulsa, OK. as the middle school French teacher, teaching students in grades 6-8. Most recently, I have been an Instructional Coach and language immersion trainer for grades K-8.
I believe you are the expert when it comes to your child. You have already spent many years as the most important teacher in his/her life. The more we communicate, the better chance we’ll have of maximizing your child’s potential.
The relationship I have with you and your child is important to me. Feel free to use the contact information below if you have questions, concerns and/or ideas.
