About me
I’ve been a passionate educator for 31 years. As a military spouse, I’ve had the unique opportunity to teach in several states—and even in Germany—before joining the Douglas County School District in 2004. Throughout my career, I’ve taught English, History, Spanish, and Speech at both the middle and high school levels.
Outside the classroom, I’m a proud mom to two adult children and the happy human to two lovable goldendoodles, Denver and Amber. I enjoy traveling, reading, exploring history, and spending quality time with friends.
This year in Spanish 1B, we’re going to build on everything you learned in Spanish 1A and take it to the next level! Using the Realidades 1 textbook (chapters 4–8), you’ll learn how to:
๐ฎ Talk about food and drinks — Learn how to order in a restaurant and describe your favorite meals.
๐ Describe your home and bedroom — Talk about where you live and describe your room in Spanish!
๐ Talk about family and celebrations — Learn how to introduce family members and talk about birthdays, parties, and special traditions.
๐๏ธ Describe daily routines and chores — Say what you and others do every day, at home and at school.
๐ Talk about places and activities — Learn how to say where you go, what you do there, and how to invite others to come along.
You'll be speaking, reading, writing, and listening in Spanish every day — and we’ll play games, do fun projects, and explore culture along the way.
Get ready for a fun and exciting year of language and learning — ¡Vamos!
