Gene Hill

With 26 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of working with students at every level, from elementary through high school. My teaching journey includes:
Eagle Ridge Elementary – 1 year
Castle Rock Middle School – 3 years
Douglas County High School – 15 years
Chaparral High School – 4 years
Mountain Ridge Middle School – 1 year
Mesa Middle School – Currently in my 2nd year
In addition to teaching, I’ve coached high school football for 25 years. During my 18 years at Douglas County High School, I served 5 years as Head Coach and coached the offensive line for the 2005 State Championship team. I later spent four years as Offensive Coordinator at Chaparral High School and 1 year coaching the offensive line at Mountain Vista. Currently, I help advise at Castle View, which keeps me connected to the game and provides the flexibility to travel and watch my son play in college.
I grew up in the Kansas City area and am a proud graduate of Fort Osage High School. I played college football at Doane College and graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver, where I earned my degree in Behavioral Science. I also hold advanced degrees in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Technology, and School Administration.
Outside of school, I enjoy going to the movies, working out, and listening to classic rock—especially AC/DC and Metallica. I’m a lifelong Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan.
Family is the center of my life. I’ve been married for 26 years to Mandy Hill, Principal at Sage Canyon Elementary. We have two amazing children:
Luke, a redshirt junior and starting offensive lineman at Western Colorado University
Maddie, a sophomore at the University of Montana, is studying Pre-Law and Journalism
We also share our home with Andy, our energetic 90-pound Boxane, who keeps life interesting.
