Matt McMurray

Hello! I am currently teaching the Digital Design/Multimedia/Yearbook classes here at Mesa. I graduated from Washington State University with my Bachelors in Physics, and followed that up with a Master's Degree specializing in Secondary Instructional Methods (focusing on how to help people learn complex material more effectively). I have previously taught college/high school/middle school science courses, including helping to open Mesa back in 2008! I retired from teaching in 2012 to pursue multiple business development opportunities, but have since returned to teaching because I LOVE the privilege of helping others learn something new that furthers their own personal growth. My personal interests include attending live music shows, time with my family, golf, camping, playing my guitar, and being creative in my garage.

In my classes, students will get to learn about computer basics, photography, graphic design, programming basics, audio/video editing, problem solving, and the design cycle. It is my intention to use my past exposure to public education, corporate management, and business entrepreneurship to authentically guide students to an understanding of how their interests and questions relate to real-life experiences and their future possibilities.
