Middle Years Programme (MYP)
Mesa Middle School is proud to be an authorized International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) World School. We partner with Douglas County High School to provide an MYP program for students in grades 7-10. Currently, Rock Ridge Elementary and South Elementary are authorized IB Primary Years Program (PYP) and Douglas County High School is offering the second part of the Middle Years Program (MYP) for all students in grades 9 and 10, as well as the Diploma Program (DP) for students in grades 11 and 12.
What the MYP is:
The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is an educational framework that encourages students aged 11 to 16 to make practical connections between their studies and the real world. At a time when students are establishing their identity and building self-esteem, the MYP is uniquely designed to offer a well-rounded education and help students achieve success in school and in life.
What the MYP is not:
- IB MYP is not an elite program for gifted students.
- IB MYP does not have application requirements like the HS diploma program.
