Mesa teachers have put together this list of resources parents and students can use to dive deeper into to content taught in class.




  • Lab report template: This template is used to complete formal lab reports.

  • Textbook: Digital copies of the 7th and 8th grade science textbooks can be accessed here using the Username: mms_Craig1 and the Password: Craig1

  • Phet simulations: Simulations that can be used to model different physics concepts.

  • Science Interactives: Interactive websites that can be used to explore 7th and 8th grades science topics.

  • Khan academy: Tutorial videos on many science topics. These may serve best as extension or enrichment, as many of the videos go significantly more in depth than middle school science.

  • Cells Alive: Interactive website to explore different types of cells and their organelles.

  • CellCraft: Flash game that allows students to control the organelles of a cell to keep the cell alive.

  • Interactive Periodic Table: Explore the features and uses of the elements of the periodic table of elements.

  • HyperPhysics: A collect of physics-related concept maps that link to information about various physics topics.

  • BioDigital: Interactive website that can be used to explore the structures and functions of the human body systems

Individuals and Society

  • iCivics -( Web-based education project founded by Justice Sandra Day designed to teach students civics and inspire them to be active participants in U.S. democracy.
  • Mission US -( Mission US engages students in the study of transformational moments in American history. The game immerses players in rich, historical settings and then empowers them to make choices that illuminate how ordinary people experienced the past.
